Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Beesy Academy when you apply for a course or take one. Written to be read, not to be skipped.
Last updated 18 May 2026
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Beesy Academy. They apply when you apply for a course, when you enroll in one, and when you use the beesy-academy.com website.
By sending us an application or enrolling in a course, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not apply, and write to support@beesy-academy.com if you want to tell us why.
What we provide
We provide online, cohort based courses. Each course runs for a fixed number of weeks with a fixed start date, is capped at 16 students, and includes one live session of about 90 minutes each week, course materials, recordings of every session, feedback from your instructor on the work you submit, and a certificate of completion.
Each course page states the level, the number of weeks, the price, the module plan and the instructor. That page is the description of what you are buying. Where anything on a course page conflicts with these terms, these terms apply.
Courses are delivered in English and are entirely online. We do not currently run in person teaching.
Applying for a place
Places are filled by application rather than by immediate purchase. Sending an application does not create a contract and does not reserve a seat.
We reply to every application within two business days. If we offer you a place, that offer includes a payment link and holds your seat for seven days. The contract between us begins when your payment is received, or when we confirm an invoice arrangement with your employer.
We may decline an application. The usual reasons are that a course is full, that a different course fits your situation better, or that you would be better served by a later cohort. We will always tell you the reason and suggest an alternative.
Prices and payment
Course prices are shown on each course page in United States dollars and range from $149 to $499. The price shown is the full price. There are no materials fees, platform fees or required software purchases.
Payment is due in full before your cohort begins, unless we have agreed an invoice arrangement with your employer. Where an employer is paying, you remain responsible for payment if they do not pay.
Taxes are charged where they apply, based on where you are, and are shown before you pay. We may change our prices at any time, but never for a course you have already been offered a place on at a stated price.
Refunds and cancellations
You can cancel for a full refund within 14 days of your payment, provided your cohort has not yet held its third live session. Write to support@beesy-academy.com and say you want to cancel. We do not ask for a reason and we do not try to talk you out of it. Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 10 business days.
If your cohort has already held its third live session, or more than 14 days have passed since payment, the fee is no longer refundable. This is because your seat was held and could not be offered to anybody else.
Outside the refund window we will still move you once, free of charge, to a later cohort of the same course, if something in your circumstances has changed. Ask us and we will arrange it.
Transfers, absence and withdrawal
You can move to a later cohort of the same course once at no charge, as long as you ask before your cohort reaches its halfway point. A second transfer is possible where circumstances warrant it and may carry a fee, which we will tell you about before you agree to it.
Every live session is recorded and posted within 24 hours, so an occasional missed week is recoverable. If you miss more than two sessions, we will talk to you about moving to a later cohort, because the cohort format depends on people being present.
If you withdraw partway through a course outside the refund window, the fee is not refundable, but you keep access to the materials and recordings for that cohort.
Changes and cancellations by us
We may need to change an instructor, a session time or the order of modules. If we do, we will tell you as early as we can and the substance of the course will not be reduced.
Very occasionally we may cancel a cohort, usually because too few people applied or because an instructor is unwell. If we cancel a cohort you have paid for, you choose between a full refund and a place in the next cohort of the same course. We do not offer credit notes in place of a refund you asked for.
What we expect from you
We expect you to arrive at sessions ready to take part, to do the practice between sessions, and to treat everyone in your cohort with respect. The cohort format only works if people show up and engage.
We also expect you not to record sessions yourself, not to share your access with anyone else, and not to redistribute course materials or recordings outside your cohort.
Behaviour that makes the room unsafe or unusable for others, including harassment, discrimination or persistent disruption, will end your place on the course. Where we remove somebody for conduct, no refund is due. This has been necessary once and we would rather it never happened again.
Course materials and your own work
Course materials, including slides, worksheets, templates and session recordings, belong to Beesy Academy or to the instructor who created them. You get a personal, non transferable licence to use them for your own learning and your own work, for as long as you like.
You may not resell them, publish them, or use them to teach the same material commercially.
The work you produce during a course is entirely yours. We claim no rights over it. We will not publish your work, quote you, or use anything you produced as an example without asking you first and getting your agreement in writing.
Certificates
Everyone who completes a course receives a Beesy Academy certificate of completion as a PDF within five working days of the final session. It states the course, the instructor, the cohort dates and the total taught hours.
To be clear about what it is: it certifies attendance and completion. It is not an accredited qualification, it does not carry academic credit, and we do not describe it as either. We will confirm a certificate to an employer who asks us, with your permission.
The website
We provide this website as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of this site or its systems, or use it in a way that harms it or interferes with anybody else using it.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with a course is limited to the amount you paid for that course. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost business or lost opportunity.
We teach professional skills and our instructors give their honest opinion based on experience. Courses are education, not professional advice about your specific situation, and decisions you take at work remain yours.
Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we collect very little, we do not track you, we set no cookies and we never sell anything.
If something goes wrong
If you are unhappy with a course, tell us while it is running rather than afterwards. Write to support@beesy-academy.com and we will respond within one business day. Most problems can be resolved during the course, which is much better for you than a refund conversation at the end.
If we cannot resolve it between us, these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause removes any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. The terms that apply to your course are the ones in force on the day you accepted your place, and we will not apply a later change retroactively to a course you have already paid for.
