Ilene Castorena

Ilene spent eleven years running operations teams in logistics and facilities services, where she was promoted into her first management role with no handover and a team of nine. She has been trying to make that experience less common for other people ever since.

Before joining Beesy Academy as a founding instructor in 2022, she led a regional operations group of about sixty people and built the internal program that new supervisors went through in their first quarter. She teaches the things she wishes someone had told her: how to hold a real one to one, how to set an expectation somebody can actually meet, and how to say the difficult sentence out loud before the situation forces you to.
